Quintin Jose V. Pastrana is an anchor and producer for Bloomberg TV Philippines, the country’s first business channel. He first served as a career technocrat in the Philippine Senate, National Security Council, and House of Representatives from 1994 to 1998.
From 1998 to 2012, Quintin was the policy, government and public affairs manager of Chevron Upstream. He then became the head and vice president of Gold Fields Philippines Incorporated, a position he has held since 2012. Quintin also serves as the founder and managing director of the Library Renewal Partnership, a leading coalition of literacy providers on track to building at least 200 community learning centers to empower over 2 million citizens by 2020.
He is a recipient of the Lannan Poetry Fellowship, an author of three books, and whose work has been featured in the Georgetown Literary Journal, Rappler.com, and Rogue Magazine. He has recently co-founded an independent publication – Firetree Press, a publication that aims to discover and promote new voices in literary and visual arts across Southeast Asia.
Quintin is a governor for the Movement for Good Governance and has been named among the region’s top young leaders by Asia Society and the US-ASEAN Business Council, as well as, the StartingBloc Global Fellow for social enterprise.
