Varinia “Bayen” Elero-Tinga is a member of the board of directors of PMFTC Incorporated and concurrently the director for external affairs. She previously served as corporate affairs head, a post she held for the last 10 years.
Bayen started her career at Philip Morris in 2000 as government relations manager and steadily climbed the corporate ladder. Before joining the private sector, Bayen spent her career in government as special assistant to the president for government relations at the national power corporation. She also worked at the House of Representative under the officer of the speaker and journal division.
In her early years, Bayen also ventured in media works as a writer and editorial assistant at the World Executive’s Digest and a reporter- columnist at the Eastern Visayas Mail in Tacloban. Bayen took her degree in BSC-Accounting and graduated Magna Cum Laude at the Divine World University in Tacloban City. She also took up law at the University of the Philippines-Diliman. Bayen earned her Master of Business Administration degree from the Ateneo de Manila University.
