The seven members of the Joint Foreign Chambers (JFC) of the Philippines will host their 11th annual Arangkada Philippines Forum on December 6, 2022 at the Manila Ballroom of the Marriott Hotel in Pasay City.
With the theme “Reform, Rebuild, Recover”, this year’s forum will focus on how policy reforms can accelerate and sustain economic recovery. Subsequent legislative priorities and recommendations to help rebuild sectors most affected by the pandemic will be discussed. Each panel will combine public and private sector representatives to identify opportunities for the Philippines to resume sustainable high growth, job creation, poverty reduction, and increased investment.
The program will begin with keynote speeches from Department of Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno and Management Association of the Philippines President Rogelio Singson. The first panel, Achieving Robust Infrastructure for a Stronger Economy, will look into the plans of the new administration to modernize the country’s infrastructure; strengthen public-private partnerships; and pursue green infrastructure projects.
There will also be a special session that will discuss the most important legislative reforms to be pursued by the 19th Congress, including policies to address key challenges to the Philippine economy as it seeks to regain pre-pandemic growth momentum.
Accelerating Exports for High Growth will focus on the priorities of the Philippine government to increase the productivity and competitiveness of key industries: agriculture, manufacturing, and mining. Initiatives to further strengthen the capacity of the country’s micro, small, and medium enterprises towards integrating them into the global value chain will also be explored.
