Former Ambassador to the U.S. Jose Cuisia Jr. said President Rodrigo Duterte has to be more circumspect when talking about the country’s allies.
Speaking on “ANC Presents: Ties that Bind,” Cuisia said Duterte is now the Philippines’ chief architect on foreign policy.
Cuisia also said Duterte speaks for all Filipinos when he talks about other countries and their leaders.
Meanwhile, former Ambassador Jose Apolinario Lozada said the Philippines should continue to develop and maintain its treaty alliances with other countries.
Lozada, who headed the House foreign relations committee, added that the President has to explain when he said his administration will pursue an “independent foreign policy.” – The World Tonight, ANC, September 13, 2016
